Breakdown - Automatic Driving Lessons Leeds - Automatic Driving Schools Leeds
We're coming up to that time of year where vehicles are more prone to breaking down. No one wants to breakdown, but we must be prepared just in case it was to happen.
Being prepared means as a driver, you should know what is expected from you should your car breakdown.
If you breakdown:
- use your hazard warning lights to warn other road users that you may be obstructing.
- move your vehicle off the road if this is possible.
- if it is dark or the visibility is poor, keep your side lights on as this will help other road users to see you. Wearing fluorescent clothing will also help.
- put a warning triangle on the road at least 45 metres (147 feet) behind your broken-down vehicle.
How to react when broken down is not something our driving instructors can give you practical experience in.
