Fuel Light - Automatic Driving Lessons Leeds - Automatic Driving Schools Leeds
So you're driving along and up pops the fuel light, but there is no petrol station in sight. What should you do?
The fuel light will illuminate when fuel levels are low, it is usually when there is around 10-15% of your fuel capacity remaining.
This will usually give you enough fuel to drive to a petrol station to fill up. If you ignore the fuel light and the fuel levels decrease even more, the fuel light will begin to flash. When your fuel light flashes, you need to get your vehicle to a petrol station as quickly as possible.
If you continue to ignore the flashing light and you run out of fuel, you will find that the car jerks or stutters or even splutters. Don't ever let yourself get to this stage.
Although this is not part of the driving test, during our automatic driving lessons, our driving instructors will teach you all the extra tips to make you a safe driver.
