Stopping Distances - Automatic Driving Lessons Leeds - Drive 360 - Automatic Driving Schools Leeds
The Highway Code provides a list of stopping distances based on the speed that you are travelling, but you must remember that these stopping distances are based on good driving conditions, on a dry road with good tyres. If any of these factors is compromised then your stopping distance will increase.
You must also remember that these distances can vary depending on:
- Your level of concentration, which is why you should never drive when tired.
- The weather. Poor wet weather can massively increase your stopping distance.
- The road surface. A poor road surface will affect your stopping distance.
During your automatic driving lessons with us, our driving instructors do their best to educate you about all the possible scenarios and how this will affect your driving. They aim to set you up to be a good and safe driver, not just to pass your driving test.
