The Met Office have issued yellow warnings for thunderstorms over the next few days.

Thunderstorms can make driving conditions dangerous. We thought it would be a good time to remind everyone about driving during a storm:

• if driving can be avoided - do so!

• heavy rain can cause visibility issues so if you are driving during an ongoing storm and it is safe to stop somewhere, you must do this.

• pull over where it is safe, turn your engine off and your hazard warning lights on.

• Do not touch anything that is metal in your car as metal in an electrical conductor. Metal interior such as handles, foot pedals and steering wheels can carry an electrical current.

• Reduce speed.

• Watch our for vulnerable road users.

• Allow other road users extra space.
